Why We Use OKX

Two reasons. One keeps our money safe. The other helps us find the next big coin.

The coins that go 100× almost never start on a big exchange. They usually start on-chain, weeks or months before Coinbase or Binance lists them. By then, most of the ride is often over.

So to catch them, you need two things: an exchange you can trust with your money, and a wallet that's a joy to use. For us, both are OKX. Here's why.

1Is OKX safe?

This comes first, because great coins mean nothing if the exchange disappears with your money. We all remember FTX.

OKX has been running since 2017, and the company behind it since 2013. In all those years, no hacker has ever broken into the exchange and taken customers' money.

It also shows its cards. Every month since November 2022, OKX has published what it holds against what it owes. The latest report, in September 2026, shows 109% of customers' Bitcoin, more than enough to pay everyone back. CoinGecko, which rates every exchange, gives it 10 out of 10. And it holds licences in Europe, Dubai and the US.

The honest part. It hasn't been perfect. In 2025, OKX paid $505 million in US penalties for serving Americans without a licence.

We've also seen it up close. Back in my crypto VC days, I visited their office in Beijing, and I met their team again at their office in Singapore.

2Why is it so easy to use?

Remember where 100× coins are born: on-chain. To buy them there, you need a wallet of your own. We've tried the big names. The one we keep coming back to is the OKX Wallet, and Chrome users seem to agree:

Here's why. When we started with MetaMask, it only worked on Ethereum-style chains, so every time a coin took off on Solana we needed a second wallet. Phantom is great on Solana, but it covers only a handful of chains, and many new or small ones are missing. Another hassle.

The OKX Wallet covers them all: the whole Ethereum family, Solana, Avalanche and more, over 130 blockchains in one place. So wherever a new coin shows up, we can go and get it early.

MrNasdog's Thought

MrNasdog

When I picked an exchange and a wallet, I wanted three things: safe, easy to use, and able to work across lots of chains. After trying a few, I ended up with OKX. The exchange and the wallet sit in the same app, so moving money between them takes a few taps, and the wallet can take me almost anywhere on-chain.
